Kuruvi - As the name indicated stirred the expectation of the audience and also created the necessary hype before the launch and no doubt that the songs were a hit even though not equaling the magic of Dharani’s previous Vijay Starrer “Ghilli” But after the release what was the result? How far it satisfied the die hard Ilaya thalapathy fans?
Wing 16 team took off to find the essence and here are our Comments
As expected, he was in air flying with camera swirling round and round and huge roar from the audience.
P.S: Even in Pokkiri he was in Air flying through the chillis in his introduction!
We appreciate the effort taken by the “Kuruvi” crew in framing the car fight sequence and Vijay has given commendable expressions. But the unwanted Dialogues before the Car chase to his competitor could have been avoided which resembles he is yet again pulling the legs of his Ultimate Counterpart.
After that?
The First 15 minutes of the film was ok and after that confusion starts…the story shifts to Malaysia, But nothing interesting happens there and even Trisha fails to impress . Vivek + Vijay Comedy sequence makes audience to think but fails to kindle laughter. Most of Vijay’s Super Hero Visual Effects could have been avoided and Director Dharani’s view of Kuruvi shifting to one place to another in quick succession fails to keep the audience under control.
After Interval
Vijay’s plan to rescue his father, punch dialogues, Visual effects, none worked out except few fight sequences mixed with the theme music. Till the end nothing expected happened neither in the theatre nor in the movie.
Plus - Vijay’s improved expressions, Vijay’s mind boggling dance, songs
Minus – Screen play, idea to promote Vijay as a super man, idea to replicate Ghilli’s Magic
Fear Factor – It’s high time for Vijay to think something different rather than to go for the so called Commercial Formula mixed with few punch dialogues, Super hero introduction and more importantly the climax song which he follows in every film. In this film, it is even worse.
Applause Effort: Yogi B Song shot in
For Vijay Fans – We know you don’t wanna let your hero down, but let’s speak reality. Does “Kuruvi” gives you any one reason for Vijay’s improvement in film industry or answer this, “When will your Hero try something different? And more importantly what does “Difference” means to him? Even Our Wing 16 team has lot of die hard Vijay fans but they all were disappointed after watching the film on the first day Central Theatre,
Wing 16 Report: In a nutshell, the film has failed to satisfy the expectation and its high time for Illaya thalapathy realizes his stardom and starting giving something which speaks other than commercialism. We wish good luck to him and his fans and as such, lets start humming …DANDANA DARNA ….DANDANAKKA DARNAA !
