What a trailor we had on Villu ? Amazing, Vijay in Bharthiar attire with few punch dialogues, rumours spreading out that Vijay is doing a double role in the film, Nayanthara for Glamour, Vadivelu for comedy, Prabhu Deva direction, Beautiful Music score by Devi Sri Prasad , Kovai sarala’s voice, Kushboo’s dance ,moreover this film is a remake of the hindi film “SOLDIER” but Except Vadivelu, everything was a complete mess :(.
Screen play
It was very clear from the beginning that most of the scenes was shot just to push the clock and had nothing to do with the story , especially the scenes involving Vayapuri,Pandu, pollachi marriage fight ??????? but thank GOD that Vadivelu had given his heart and soul to safeguard villu team. This lag and confusing screenplay continues till the very end of the film such that it gives an effect of being inside the theatre for more than 6 hours.Few also commented that they had the effect of seeing a good remix of the film aadhi,aegon and pokkiri, which is also a fact.
Dance
Vijay never fails to satisfy his fans through his dance, but that too was not satisfactory in Villu. Well, he gives his best , but trying to create a brand or style in dance will never work out. How many times one can see his steps of dancing with folded legs ? But his performance in the song “NEE KOBAPATTAL …” is highly appreciated for his cute expressions and clever choreography.
Where is Vijay Intro ?
Director messed up with the most expected Intro of Vijay in villu. His intro doesnt create the magic it created in Sivakasi or atleast pokkiri. Eventhough the idea was ok, too fast screen play and logicless scene sequences made the Intro very very normal.
Vijay’s Flag
But whatsoever, Vijay is moving in right direction atleast in his political game by introducing his flag and a old political movie song as a title song. But he should realise that all these political pinch will have meaning only if the film is a hit.
Bored of Vijay + Prakash Raj Combination
Seriously its boring, gilli, pokkiri, sivakasi…….plz….try someone else.
Villu Story and the Suspense
A usual story, Son takes revenge on those who killed his father.Father is yet another Vijay who does the cameo for 10 to 15 minutes as an army man. But none could digest Vijay as an army man because when other heroes are spending years to bring the body language, six-packs etc, changing the moustache alone created irrresistable laughter.
In a Nutshell,
Villu is definetly worth watching for Vadivelu, Nayanathara and few good dance sequences.

These are our analysis and results of our survey on “Expectations of a Vijay Fan”. Kindly do the needful.
1. Please give us a different story line without any masala. Can you ? We need a calm,less weightage character from you.
2. Compared to kuruvi, your tummy is highly visible in this film, kindly watch out.
3. Try to do a film like sachin next ? what say ?
4. Please change your Team(Damu,Vaiyapuri, Vadi velu,Sriman) and give chance to other aspiring actors too, so that we will also have a different feel, you can always bring back your team after few films.
5. Try some lonely chill songs like Sakkari nilavae, ennai thalata..where your presence would be so powerful .
6. Your comedy is seriously improving, try some concepts in it.
7. Please avoid saying the dialogue ” I am a Gilli” in your every movie, its very boring, Gilli was released years back…so …………..
These are our expectations and hope to see a good usual Vijay Movie very sooon.

I totally agree with the admins views on the film . I would like to add a bit more to the review though
A star like Vijay (17 years in the film industry), he should be looking at every opportunity to be the trend setter not a trend follower . I see this film as vijay’s answer to ajith’s billa . The last time i would say vijay made the film industry turn its head is movie thirumalai .
A good movie , be it any kind of it will largely depend on the character artists or the negative role for successful running . I can’t see any of those roles in the film .
And coming to Nayanthara - she is really HOT . but Directors watch out too much of anything will be nothing , so be care full in song sequences . we would like to have not more than 2 item(glamorous) songs.

Last few years people tend to say that Tamil cinema is going in a right path,Many talented youngsters proving that they can produce world class Tamil films.But few spoiling this growth by giving films like VILLU,PADIKATHAVAN,KURUVI, AAGEN etc.There is a false thinking among these filmmakers that audience will accept anything they do.
Tamil films has to avoid portrait Hero’s like JACK OF ALL TRADES.Director has to understand that story is quintessential than Hero.The results of these recent films shows that audience have changed a lot.So please stop taking these kind of drab movies and don’t ever ever think that giving these kind of film is a figment.

I was in no interest to see this movie because of my friend’s compulsion I convinced myself. I felt that the film is much worse than the review here. The least thing I expected in this movie is dance all because prabhu deva is the director of the movie. Even that dint satisfies me (the reason being I expected more). As the review says few of vadivel’s comedy was good but there are needless vadivel’s scene just to stretch the movie. Finally I don’t dare to see a film like this again from vijay.
